About Building Blocks

Building Blocks

Building Blocks is the West Midlands Police Charitable Trust and was registered in April 1999.

The main focus of the Trust’s activities are youth issues and it supports projects that tackle drug and alcohol misuse and provides diversionary tactics to direct young people away from a life of crime.  Those who have, or are at risk of offending, are the prime concern of the Trust.

The Charity’s stated objectives are:

  • To advance the education of public and in particular (but without limitation) young people in all matters relating to alcohol, drug and solvent abuse (and the consequent of crime generally).
  • To promote or support activities which encourage the mental moral and physical development of young people (whilst diverting them away from a life of crime and/or alcohol or solvent abuse).
  • To promote for the public benefit a safer and increased quality of life through the prevention of crime and protection of people and property from criminal acts.

There is no minimum or maximum grant available and the Board of Trustees meet on a quarterly basis to consider applications.
